Our severance pay and pension rights, which were threatened, were raised by the “omnibus law” passed by Grand National Assembly of Turkey (GNAT) Plan and Budget Commission. As part of the struggle launched by DİSK in all around Turkey, bringing discrimination based on age for workers under the age of 25 and over the age of 50 age, arrangements of legislative proposal, which will lead to losses in severance and notice payment, job security provisions and pension rights particularly for workers, were protested by all trade union confederations.
As workers taking over these protests, we made our voices heard from workplaces, factories, workshops and areas, “Omnibus Law” discussed in the parliament was withdrawn on 10 November 2020 thanks to our organized struggle.
