The workers working at Arsan Kauçuk, which operates in Adapazarı OSB and employs approximately 300 people, thus became members of our union Lastik-İş after their long-term struggle. The Ministry of Labour and Social Security issued an official certificate confirming that Lastik-İş has a sufficient majority to be able to become a bargaining partner. However, the employer dismissed 10 of our members because they became members of a union despite the prohibition of dismissal. Our union’s Sakarya branch made a press statement in front of the Arsan Kauçuk facility operating in Adapazarı OSB on 12 August 2021. The press statement made by Fuat Özbay, our union’s Sakarya Branch Chair, attended by Sakarya branch executives, representatives and Arsan Kauçuk workers.
