Upon the disagreement that arose during the collective bargaining negotiations with Georg Fischer Hakan Plastik Boru ve Profil San. Tic A.Ş., our members started to strike at the workplace on 11 June 2021.
Our union’s international parent organization IndustriALL Global Union sent a letter to our union stating that it is in solidarity with our striking members at Georg Fischer Hakan Plastik.
Dear Brother Alaaddin,
I am writing to you on behalf of IndustriALL Global Union, which represents more than fifty million workers in mining, energy and manufacturing sectors throughout the world, including Turkey, to express our full support and solidarity with your rightful and legitimate strike at Georg Fischer Hakan Plastik Boru ve Profil Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş.
We are aware that your negotiations with the company started on 6 January 2021. As during the bargaining rounds the employer did not make a sufficient offer satisfying the demands of your members, particularly on wage and other related matters, Lastik-İş has decided to go on strike as of 11 June 2021 with the participation of all the members at the facilities of the company located in Çerkezköy and Şanliurfa.
IndustriALL Global Union recognizes and salutes your determined fight for your rights and better working conditions. Your struggle is a very important and please know that the hearts of millions of workers are with all of the striking members of Lastik-İş.
